Welcome to City of Hills! This is a role playing community based in San Francisco, California; which is the fourth most populous city in the state of California. San Francisco is famous for its hills, as there are more then fifty hills within the city limits. Some of the neighborhoods are even named after the hill on which they are situated. In this game we are an aim and thread friendly PB community based around fourteen of the neighborhoods located in San Francisco which are, Bayview, Castro District, Haight-Ashbury, Mission District, Mount Davidson, Mount Sutro, Nob Hill, Noe Valley, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Rincon Hill, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill and Twin Peaks. We are a city wide based game though and anything can happen permitting it’s realistic, as writers do have freedom control over their storylines.

| APPLICATION |

◊First and foremost, we are now asking all writers to please place a hold (right here) on your play by, before applying. It should only take one minute of your time or less, but this is to ensure that your play by does not get held by another writer, before you get the chance to apply them in or the moderator(s) can get to the application to place the play-by on the pending list.
◊Second off, you must add the mod journal (![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) sanfranmod) to your friends list. Follow that with submitting membership requests in the following sub-communities; ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) cityofhills, sanfrantrolley, sanfranradio, sfgoldengate, sfchronicle and sfchinatown. It is asked that you do join our story line community as well, sanfranalcatraz.
◊Your next step is to be sure that you are really ready to apply. That you have read the guidelines carefully and that you have at least two icons of your play-by uploaded into the “userpics” section of your journal. It is greatly preferred they are sized at 100x100 pixals (or at least one) – but not really required or considered a deal breaker. You will also need to make sure that you have a first entry, list of ten (or more) well written facts or a biography posted on your journal at least. Biographies may be written in first person if that is your preference as a writer.
◊Before taking the plunge and applying now that all of the above is done, we do have our directory (sfdirectory) that lists all fourteen of the neighborhoods we feature and focus around, for residential purposes in this game. You do not have to list what house, apartment, condo or even hotel room your character(s) lives in. Just simply put the name of the neighborhood you wish for them to reside in.

If you fail to come back in that time frame and either don’t get your application in or request an extension, you will lose your hold and it will become a face anyone can grab. We do not accept challenges to holds or pending faces. If you do indeed need longer then forty-eight hours, please do post that in response to your original hold. If you fail to give a time frame of how much longer you will need, than you will only receive an extra twenty-four (24) hours. Also any anonymous requests posted will be not only ignored, but deleted.
